Applesauce Inn opened to it's first guest on May 25, 2003. For several years after we were married, David and I wanted to be Innkeepers; with our backgrounds it seemed a natural fit. I (Wendy) come from 18 years of resort hotel management experience in the region and David has a similar number of years in the food-service industry under his belt combined with a flair for the creative.
After years of virtual “analysis paralysis”, we were finally brave enough to take the first steps toward our dream. We came into it with very little money but lots of ideas, making a startup Inn pretty much our only option…boy, was it was the right one for us. Over the years we've developed Applesauce Inn into a popular and comfortable retreat for area travelers. We've met hundreds of wonderful people and introduced a good number to their first Bed & Breakfast experience; many have become our friends and loyal repeat guests.
We also share a love for the Boxer breed. We have two rescues; Assistant Innkeeper Bella is a sweet & quiet 10 year old and Lucy is our exuberant 4 year old. They are not allowed in guest areas unless guests ask to meet them--which makes them very happy--- when they're happy, they wiggle like crazy!!!!
